The Commission's expert group on the mid-term evaluation of Horizon Europe published a report entitled  "Align, act, accelerate".  The independent expert report provides strategic recommendations for maximizing the impact of EU research and innovation programs in the future. The document is based on preliminary results and data from Horizon Europe, as well as evaluation results and conclusions of the Horizon 2020 programme. According to the report, Europe needs to take transformative action to cover four critical and interdependent key areas. This process should be implemented in the short term, with concrete actions in the last three years of the Horizon Europe project, 2025-2027. The results will be the basis for future EU support in the framework of research and innovation.
