The 17th meeting of the Standing Conference of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Georgia was held at Kutaisi International University. The session was chaired by the President of the Rectors’ Conference, Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, the Deputy Minister, and other responsible officials.

At the session, the Minister of Education presented the key directions of the fundamental reform of higher education initiated by the Prime Minister, aimed at improving quality and shaping the system in line with modern standards. Legislative changes related to the reform were also discussed, as well as the issue of involving rectors in the working group responsible for drafting a new unified regulatory act.
